On August 15, 1945, the State Pedagogical University was established on the basis of teacher training in Kulob city. At the beginning of the course the institute consisted of three faculties: history and philology, physics-mathematics and nature-geography. Faculty of Physics and Mathematics was one of the first faculties of the institute, which has been operating in spite of all the existing problems.
Facuty has 4 departments:
1.Department of Mathematics and its teaching methodology

2.Department of mathematics analysis and theory of functions.
Head of the department starting from 16th of January 2018 is Candidate of Mathematics and Physics Sciences Abdulhakim Kholmurodovich.
3.Department of Physics, itsteaching methodology and technology of materials.
Head of the department starting from 16th of January 2018 is associate professor Qodirova DilafrusTolibovna.
4.Department of Computer Sciences

The Faculty participated incompetitionwith 9 University Faculties, "HunarGanjiBebahost" dedicated to "Year of Tourism Development and Folk Crafts" and the celebration of the International Navruz Holiday and won 3rd place.
Team of the faculty in the sports competition, which was held at the initiative of the Tcell Mobile University between the university faculties of the volleyball competition in February 2018, won 3rd place.
Sulaymonov Ubaydullo was announced “The Magister of the year” in 2017, which was held at the University, and awarded with the university's Certificate of Appreciation and Money.
